Our Philosophy

The Grateful Minds philosophy is simple yet profound: How do we cultivate a grateful mind to support long term recovery from addiction? It begins with the powerful combination of offering help to others, practicing presence through meditational tools, and fostering a sense of community.

At Grateful Minds Recovery we believe in the following:

  • Respect and Kindness: Treat all members with respect, kindness, and empathy. Be mindful of your words and actions, and avoid any behavior that may cause harm

  • Inclusivity: Embrace diversity and inclusivity. We celebrate individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and perspectives. We do not tolerate discrimination, prejudice, and harassment of any kind.

  • Healthy Communication: Engage in constructive and respectful communication. Listen actively, express yourself thoughtfully, and be open to differing opinions.

  • Privacy and Confidentiality: Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all members. Refrain from sharing personal information or private conversations without consent.

  • Safety and Boundaries: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all members. Respect personal boundaries, both online and offline. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please reach out to the community moderators or administrators for assistance.

  • Positive Contribution: Contribute positively to the community by sharing knowledge, experiences, and resources that promote wellness, personal growth, and mutual support.

  • Abstaining from Unauthorized Mood Altering Chemicals: Members are expected to abstain 100% from mood-altering chemicals not pre-approved by a licensed healthcare professional. This includes but is not limited to illicit drugs, recreational substances, and non-prescription medications.

  • Accountability: Take responsibility for your actions and their impact on the community. If you make a mistake or unintentionally cause harm, acknowledge it, apologize, and learn from the experience.

  • Feedback: Accept feedback graciously and use it as an opportunity for growth.
